Requirements:
•Work approximately 10-15 per week and some evenings and some weekends
•Assist in the development of Parent Academy in-language materials
•Assist in the coordination of the Parent Academy activities – such as College Trip and Graduation
•Attend workshop sessions and manage attendance of parent participants
•Do follow-up with parent alumni
•Possibly have the opportunity to do research and/or engage in digital storytelling.

Prerequisites:
•Fluent in Cantonese, Mandarin or Vietnamese – both written and oral
•Have some experience working with immigrant parents
•Have some experience coordinating events
•Have some experience in organizing or in an office setting, preferably.

Description/Mission statement:
This internship offers the opportunity for students to work with Asian Pacific Islander and Latino parents to help promote leadership skills, develop intergroup/intergenerational relations and connect with the San Gabriel Valley Community. The program is meant for parents to become advocates for their children as well as to become active community leaders.
