Hi! I am an Asian American Studies major double with Financial Math and Statistics. I spend my free time learning to cook, eating those food, and trying new things. My hobbies include phone photography, trying out classical instruments, and sleeping. I’m taking a couple of Asian American Studies classes this quarter so if you see me, come say hi! Or, you are always welcome to come to my office hours.
I really like Asian American Studies courses because they highlight and examine multiple intercultural perspectives in literature, history, and life. I learned many things that aren’t available in STEM classes. In Asian American Studies courses, you get the chance to work closely with the professors to develop your communication, writing, and analytical skills. In these classes, students are given the chance to express themselves and grow as individuals. I started off as a minor and became a major because I realize each of the interdisciplinary topics gives me invaluable knowledge, background, and experience. Regardless of becoming a major/minor, taking an AsAm class will change your outlook on mechanisms of the world and yourself.
Feel free to come chat with me. Or if you have questions and can’t come to my office hours, email me and I’ll respond to you as soon as possible.
